A note from Paul
Hi, I’m Paul Paradis.
I didn’t create this site as a business idea or a content project — I created it because mental health is deeply personal to me, and because I’ve seen firsthand just how real, overwhelming, and often invisible this struggle can be.
I have over two years of experience working in a forensic mental health hospital setting, where I’ve been directly exposed to some of the most complex and severe mental health cases. That experience changed me. It gave me a deeper understanding of how fragile the human mind can be — but also how strong people are, even when they’re suffering in ways most others can’t see.
Mental health is also something that runs through my own life and my family. I’ve faced my own challenges, and my daughters have as well — one of them quite severely. Watching someone you love struggle like that is something you never forget. It’s heavy, it’s emotional, and at times, it can feel helpless.
That’s why this site exists.
We are living in what feels like a worldwide mental health crisis. More people than ever are struggling, searching for answers, or simply trying to make it through the day. It’s honestly heartbreaking — and at times, scary — to see just how many people are suffering in silence.
I truly love and care about people. I always have. And if there’s any way I can help — even if it’s just by pointing someone in the right direction — then that matters to me.
My goal with this site is simple:
- To help people find real, accessible support.
- To make information easier to understand.
- And to give people a starting point when they feel lost.
If you’re here and you’re struggling, I genuinely hope you find something on this site that helps you take even a small step forward.
You’re not alone.
Wishing you peace, strength, and happiness.
— Paul Paradis

What I do here
I edit Telehealth Navigator. That means I plan the guide library, write and rewrite the content, and I’m the person responsible for what gets published and when it gets updated. If something on this site is wrong, it’s on me to fix it.
I write the guides by reading the primary sources most readers don’t have time to read — APA and American Psychiatric Association practice guidelines, NIH and NIMH patient materials, SAMHSA program documents, and CMS telehealth policy — and translating them into plain English, with links back to the originals so you can check the work.
The fastest way to reach me about a correction, a reader question, or anything editorial is editorial@telehealthnavigatorai.com. I read that inbox myself. The full editorial process is documented on the Editorial Standards page.
Areas of focus
My editorial work concentrates on a few recurring subjects:
- Plain-language explainers of mental health conditions built from APA and NIMH guidance.
- Comparisons of U.S. telehealth and online-therapy platforms based on each platform's published documentation.
- Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid coverage rules for telehealth, sourced from CMS and HealthCare.gov.
- Privacy, HIPAA, and state-by-state telehealth law.
- Guidance for specific reader groups — seniors, teens, veterans, rural readers, LGBTQ+ readers — using population-specific public health material.
